There were 984 deaths in total; the US military bases in Okinawa and Yamaguchi all reported new cases on the same day.
On the 14th, there were 143 newly diagnosed cases in Tokyo, and more than 100 cases were added on a single day for 2 consecutive days. In addition, the Kadena base of the U.S. military in Okinawa reported two more confirmed cases on the 14th. The US military stationed in Japan has Kadena base, Futenma base, Hansen camp and many other bases in Okinawa. Since the outbreak, 100 confirmed cases have been reported at the US military base in Okinawa.
Yamaguchi Prefecture announced on the 14th that three new crown cases have been reported at the Iwakuni Base in Japan, located in Iwakuni City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. These three people were tested by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) when they entered Tokyo Haneda Airport. They arrived at Iwakuni Airport by civil aviation before the result.
Japanese Defense Minister Taro Kono said on the 14th that these three people lied to rent a car to go to the Iwakuni base after entering the country, which was an "extremely serious situation" and had demanded strict punishment from the US.
According to the statistics of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on the 14th, 18,282 of the cases diagnosed in Japan have been discharged from hospitals or ended isolation, and the cumulative number of PCR testers is about 574,000. Cases diagnosed at US military bases are not counted as cases diagnosed in Japan.
