The plant is planned to be put into operation by the winter of 2020/2021 and it is a completely new technology, developed by a Swedish company, where oil from different types of industrial machinery can be purified and recycled several times. Besides being cheaper than buying new oil, it is also better from a climate perspective, according to the initiators.

- For every liter of oil we recycle, we save one to three kilos of carbon dioxide emissions, says Bo Berglund, chairman of the board of ROCCO Oil Sweden.

Local profiles invest

Local sports profiles such as hockey professional Elias Pettersson and the former national team captain for the football team, Lars Lagerbäck are among the investors to the facility, which will be able to clean about five percent of the industrial oil used in Sweden.

How come it is happening right in Ånge?

- Steam is good strategically, it is located in the middle of the country and you have good flows to and from all directions. We can drive by train and truck, logistics is an important aspect, ”explains Bo Berglund.

Exclusive rights in Sweden

The company ROCCO Oil has the exclusive right to operate in Sweden and in the long term plans are planned for several locations.
