Easily victorious Monday from a drifting Torino (3-1), Inter Milan took the hotly contested second place in the Italian Championship after the 32nd day.

Inter Milan 68 points; Lazio Rome 68 points; Atalanta Bergamo 67 points. Juventus is far ahead, with eight lengths of margin on Inter and Lazio, and there is no longer really suspense for the title.

The three chasers of the Turin leader also have their place almost guaranteed for the next Champions League, but the order of arrival remains very uncertain.

While the 33rd day begins on Tuesday with the match of Atalanta against Brescia, it is now Inter which occupies the place of the dolphin.

Of the four teams at the top of the table, that of Antonio Conte is indeed the only one to have won this weekend, Juve and Atalanta having separated on a 2-2 draw while Lazio have lost again, against Sassuolo.

Inter however started badly against Torino (16th) on Monday, with a huge and error by their usually very reliable goalkeeper Handanovic, turned into a goal by Belotti (17th).

But the Turinese are extremely fragile since the recovery (four defeats in six games) and Inter just needed to accelerate after the break to return, then pass.

The three nerazzuri goals were scored in less than a quarter of an hour by Young with a good recovery (49th), Godin's header for his first goal in Serie A (51st), then Lautaro Martinez on a deflected strike ( 61e).

With a trip to the Spal field (19th) on Thursday, the 33rd day could also be favorable for Inter.
