On June 6, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on the extension of the embargo on arms supplies to Libya for a year.

In May, spokesman for the Libyan National Army command, Brigadier General Ahmed al-Mismari, said Turkey was violating the international arms embargo by sending its equipment and weapons to Libya.

The Russian Foreign Ministry promised to monitor the EU’s military operation “Irini” in the Mediterranean Sea, the purpose of which is to facilitate the implementation of the UN arms embargo on Libya.
