Despite the European Union's recommendations, the Czech Republic, which has restricted entry of Korean citizens, lifted the restrictions.

Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Czech Republic said the Czech government has lifted immigration restrictions for citizens of six countries outside the European Union, including Korea.

This allowed Korean citizens to stay in the Czech Republic for 3 months without having to obtain a separate visa.

Earlier, on the 30th of last month, the EU Council, the agency representing the governments of the 27 member states of the European Union, recommended lifting restrictions on entry to 14 other countries, including Korea.

However, the Czech government has maintained measures to restrict Korean citizens from entering the country by temporarily suspending visa-free agreements with the Czech Republic in April.

In response, the Korean Embassy has been discussing with the Czech government that Korea is a model country for corona19 prevention, issuing visas for travel purposes, and exempting self-isolation for business, academic and public purposes.
