7-month-old Bosnian child Vinco Cukic, born with heart problems, has regained his health after having undergone two heart surgeries in Turkey.

Finco was born to the couple Tania and Joseph who lived in a village in Bosnia and Herzegovina 7 months ago with "Quadruple Fallo," a congenital heart disease known as "Blue Child Syndrome."

According to the Mayo Clinic website, the Tetralogy of Fallot is a rare condition caused by a combination of 4 heart defects present from birth, that is, congenital.

Mayo Clinic adds that these defects affect the structure of the heart, causing blood to flow less oxygen outside the heart and to the rest of the body, and the skin of infants and children with Tetralogy of Fallot tends to blue to not carry blood sufficient quantity of oxygen.

Bosnian doctors have said surgery must be done to keep Finco alive (Anatolia)

Surgery

Bosnian doctors said that it is necessary to perform surgery to keep the child Vinco alive, because the disease is the presence of a gap between the ventricles of the heart, failure of the pulmonary arteries, and affects the blood circulation of the lungs by decreasing blood flow and oxygen to them.

The doctors directed the Djukiيتش family to Turkey, because they could not receive appropriate treatment in their country.

The child was transported to Turkey by ambulance, and received treatment at the Istanbul Agi Padme Bakirkoy Hospital.

And after Vinko Jukic underwent the first surgery, he spent 6 months to improve his arteries, then underwent a second operation to correct the vascular pathways, and after he had fully recovered he returned to his homeland, recovered with his family.

A normal life like his peers

The two operations were carried out by Finco, Professor Dr. Yusef Kinan Yalchenbach, a specialist in cardiovascular surgeries at Aji Padme Bakirkoy Hospital.

"One in every 100 children is born with congenital heart disease, but not all of them are critical, so you do not need to intervene immediately," Yalchenbach said to Anatolia.

"Some of these diseases require urgent surgery in the first days of the birth of the child to preserve his life," Yalchenbach said.

And he explains that Finco was "born with a disease that belongs to this urgent group of congenital heart diseases, and is called: Tetralogy of Fallot."

Yalchenbach said that the main problem with the Fallow tetralogy "is that the child turns blue because the blood does not flow to the lungs sufficiently, but this problem can be corrected in some children through surgery."

"Vinco's lung arteries were very small, not growing, so surgery in the first stage was absolutely necessary," he said.

"In the first operation, we expanded the vessels going to the lung arteries, and we worked to grow normally."

He added, "After that, we had the child corrected when he was seven months old."

In the correction, Yalchenbach said, "We closed the gap or hole between the ventricles of the heart, and restored the blood vessel pathways that lead to the lung artery to a position close to normal."

After Vinko Jukic underwent the first operation, he spent 6 months improving his arteries (Anatolia).

After the operation, Yalchenbach said: "Now the heart of Vinko is working very close to normal, the blue color he was wearing has disappeared, and we hope to lead a normal life like his peers after this."

He noted that Finco "is no longer subject to supervision by neither cardiologists in Bosnia or Turkey."

"In general, Vinko's life will not have health problems, because he is leading a life very close to normal after his corrections," Yalchenbach said.

But the only thing that should be done for Finco - according to Yalchenbach - is "to avoid very stressful and stressful activities, and that he is directed in this regard, in addition to that there may be a need to take some medications, and you should pay attention to this well, but I hope for a good future."

The mother breathes a sigh of relief

Finco’s mother, Tania Jukic, tells Anatolia that she “was unaware of her child’s illness during pregnancy, and that they knew about it after his birth, and this news was sad and difficult.”

"After the diagnosis of Finco, the doctors told us that it is not possible to perform surgery in Bosnia," she added. "We have advised us to go to Turkey, because it is conducting successful operations in this and other areas."

"After we were carrying in our hearts as big as a stone, it completely disappeared after the success of the Finco operation in Turkey," Tania Cukic added.
