July 12, 2020 Donald Trump first used a coronavirus mask in public, visiting the Walter Reed military hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, a few miles from the White House. The images were broadcast on US television. Previously, the president had used the mask while visiting a factory but in a private area, although photos and videos had also arrived.

"I think it's a great thing to use the mask when you're in a hospital, when you're talking to a lot of soldiers and people who in some cases have just come out of the operating room," Trump had said before entering Walter Reed. "I have never been against masks, I think we have to evaluate time and place," explained

New record of infections
New daily record of infections in the United States, the country most affected by the coronavirus: yesterday there were 66,528 new cases, never so many in 24 hours, according to a count by Johns Hopkins University. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic therefore rises to 3,242,073. The death toll increased by 760, bringing the total death toll to 134,729.

The Florida case
The coronavirus therefore does not give respite to the United States which, however, does not give up on reopening. And there is a Florida case. Yesterday the news had spread of a record number of deaths in 24 hours (188) then corrected by the department of health, which speaking of a miscalculation specified that there were 95 victims. However, the state set the record for coronavirus-related deaths in a week with 500 victims. A record 120 deaths were recorded on Thursday. Three weeks ago, the weekly average of deaths was 30 per day. The state reported 9,960 new coronavirus cases and 421 hospitalized people. Since March 1, when the first infections were registered, Florida has reported 254,511 confirmed cases and 4,301 deaths.

But the state, recently visited by Trump, despite the over 10 thousand infections found in one day, does not renounce the reopening of one of the biggest tourist attractions: Disney World, also nicknamed as 'The most magical place on earth'. After four months of waiting, Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom return to welcome visitors while Epcot and Disney Studios will still wait four days. It almost seems that the state, governed by the Republican Ron De Santis, travels at two speeds since in the meantime many cities and counties have restored the restrictions that had been lifted in May, when the cases seemed to decrease. In any case, in the Disney theme parks, the precautions related to the spread of the virus must be respected: access only on reservations, temperature measurement, use of masks and no parades to avoid gatherings.
