The Emirates Red Crescent Authority has announced the launch of the “Sacrifice of Eid” project, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra Region, President of the Emirates Red Crescent, confirming that the number of beneficiaries of the project this year reaches 600 thousand and 400 people, at a cost Estimated 11 million and 775 thousand dirhams.

The authority stated - in a press conference held by "remote" - that the project budget and the number of beneficiaries of it, are subject to increase based on the support of the benefactors and donors of the campaign and their response to its activities.

The Secretary-General of the Commission, Dr. Muhammad Atiq Al-Falahi, affirmed that the launch of the sacrifice campaign and the enhancement of its activities this year comes as an extension of the initiatives that the Commission offers since the beginning of the pandemic crisis, “Covid-19”, and its role in responding to the pandemic and promoting preventive and preventive measures issued by the leadership of the state, and the implementation of many of the Community initiatives that provided many needs for the local community in various fields.

Al-Falahi pointed out that the sacrifice campaign comes in exceptional health, economic and social conditions, this year, due to the pandemic of "Covid-19", and its repercussions globally, stressing that the authority was keen that the campaign this year be different from its predecessors, in terms of its outputs, results and the number of beneficiaries. Therefore, it seeks to attract more supporters, donors and supporters, and to expand the umbrella of its beneficiaries.

He emphasized that the authority has developed a plan to achieve these goals in line with the preventive and precautionary measures set by the state to reduce the spread of the Corona virus, commitment to social separation, and enhance protection for those who are sacrificed, and not to be infected, by introducing the sacrifice delivery service to beneficiaries in a manner that avoids crowding And contact, and will be committed to sterilization procedures necessary for all means used in the slaughter, processing and transfer of sacrifices to the beneficiaries.

Al-Junaibi said that «the campaign places the groups affected by the crisis (Corona) at the top of its priorities, as the authority has completed its arrangements to enhance the campaign’s activities, receive support for the benevolent, and facilitate the donation process through its platforms and outlets through the website, smart phone applications and text messages, in addition to publishing the authority’s representatives in More than 150 locations nationwide, especially in the commercial centers, markets and various institutions.
