- The hardest thing is the uncertainty. Not knowing if I will be sitting on a plane to the US in a few weeks or if I will stay here in Varberg, says Hampus.

The United States is one of the most popular countries among Swedish students to study abroad. But just like in the rest of the world, the corona virus has forced both universities and schools to close down and instead switch to distance studies. And if distance education continues in the fall, foreign students will be sent home. New visas for those who will start studies in the country will not be granted. This according to the border authority ICE.

- My school has chosen to run a hybrid variant, ie half online and half physically in place. It may change at any time so I sit and watch all the time. So there is still a chance that I will come to the US, says Hampus Johansson.

"Looks dark"

As he plays high-level tennis, he gets the help of an agent in Denver who works to help international students.

Hampus Johansson has had a time with the US Embassy in the middle of August, a day after he started his dream education. If he gets his visa, he will be delayed for at least a month.

- But it looks dark and the feeling is that it will not go away, says the 18-year-old.

In the clip he tells more about his situation.
