During the summer, Ronja Grundström's rabbits live with her mother and father in Nora, so they can be outdoors instead of in Ronja's apartment. But, during the night between Thursday and Friday, one of the rabbits was killed.

- Dad called me when I was in school. He said that Qira was dead, I didn't understand. Then he told me that someone had run a stick through her, she says.

"Had run straight through her"

She was picked up and in Nora the family had covered the worst with a towel.

- But it wasn't a small stick, and it had run right through her.

It was Ronja's mother who went out to see the rabbits and then found Qira lying a little outside the pasture. Ronja tells her mother was screaming straight out. Then they called the police and made a report.

- Then we did some preparation and buried her. In a way, I didn't want to be there, but I liked her. It was brutal. The whole family mourned, says Ronja.

Not the first time

Last summer another of Ronja's rabbits, Sven, disappeared. Then they thought it was an accident, a fox or bird of prey that had arrived. Now there is the idea that it is the same person.

- Another family in Nora found her rabbit killed in the cage. It was the children who found the rabbit's head, but no body. Another family found their rabbit in two parts. It's so strange that it happens time and time again in the same little town.

Big spread in social media

She says the shock has begun to subside and that she has received support after her post about the event has spread widely on social media.

- Most regret and show their support. It gives me hope for humanity. Then there are those who express themselves clumsily and say it's my fault. Sure, I probably could have had a camera and 14 locks, but it hadn't stopped a psychopath. You should not blame yourself, says Ronja Grundström.
