"The Republic has spared no resources"

"All human materials and reinforcements continue to be sent to stem the epidemic," tweeted for his part the Minister of Health Olivier Véran who is participating in this trip.

To our fellow Guyanese: I know your concern at the progression of the epidemic. With @JeanCastex and @SebLecornu, we want to assure you of full state support. All human materials and reinforcements continue to be sent to stem the epidemic.

Guyana still in a state of emergency

"I understand that the epidemiological situation seems to be improving, and that is a good thing," hailed Jean Castex, noting that "the mobilization of the State and all public services is not unrelated to this situation" , even if "probably not everything was perfect". Guyana, still under a health emergency like Mayotte, had 6,102 confirmed coronavirus cases and 26 deaths on Sunday.

"The fight against the epidemic supposes that the behavior of our fellow citizens (...) is exemplary to prevent the virus from spreading" and "I can understand the impatience of the Guyanese population", continued the Prime Minister, then that a curfew is in force and that certain districts or certain communes have been reconfigured.

"However, you will have to remain vigilant," he warned. In mainland France, a certain relaxation in the respect of barrier gestures was observed but the Prime Minister concentrated his remarks on the French territory of South America. Globally praising "France at the forefront" in the economic and social support of the crisis, he underlined that "the length of the crisis in Guyana increases" its impact.
