Waiting to get home, she now fills the city streets with singing.

- I like the sound in Malmö, it is like more tight between the houses here than at home. When you sing oak it sounds fantastic, explains Chely Nuñez.

She is a well-known name among the Chilean world after a long singing career and not least thanks to a YouTube video, a protest song against Chile's current right-wing regime from last fall. It took her out on a small world tour that ended in Sweden and Malmö in April, after all flights home were canceled as a result of the outbreak of the corona crisis.

Democracy on the road is raging

Through newly found friends, a Swedish-Chilean family in Lund, she has now been given temporary housing and provides herself by singing on the streets and squares, just like at home in Santiago.

- The streets are my arena and my musical residence I have in the tradition from names such as Violeta Parra and Victor Jara with their strong social pathos. I see it as my mission to disseminate knowledge of the terrible that is now going on in Chile, where democracy is about to be ravaged, says Chely.
