After more than a year of investigation, the Mossos d'Esquadra have dismantled a family organization in the neighborhood of La Mina, in Sant Adrià de Besòs, dedicated to repeated violent crimes such as drug trafficking and robbery with force in establishments and freight trucks, in addition to having numerous illegal weapons. The operation has allowed 28 people to be arrested, all of Spanish nationality, of whom 9 have been imprisoned by court order, including the main clan leaders.

Investigators note that the suspects were part of a perfectly structured criminal organization in addition to belonging to the same family. Despite this, it did not follow a pyramid structure, although there were hierarchical steps, but had family cells that related to each other and when faced with disagreement, the main leaders took decisions. The Mossos point out that violence and the ability to generate respect marked the position of each member of the group.

The upper levels of the clan were permanently made up of people with family ties, while the lower part of the structure were people with a more sporadic stay in the group and were not always part of the family. There were five levels, from that of the two clan patriarchs, one as a leader and the other as a lieutenant who made all the decisions; passing through the three brothers of one of the leaders who advised the superior degree and transferred the orders; an executive arm of the leadership that were young people who committed crimes using violence, including to commit other groups in the area; relatives who collaborated with the former in illicit activities, such as being figureheads in companies to launder, hide money and weapons or manage marijuana plantations; and a fifth level of people who worked for the organization in minor tasks such as selling drugs, turning on the electricity or supporting thefts. They were not relatives but enjoyed clan protection.

The police note that they committed violent crimes as coercion to get fast money and maintain a "state of terror in the area", indiscriminately and using firearms if necessary. They also engaged in the robbery of truck loads that transported goods when they parked in service areas, and in the cultivation and sale of marijuana. The Mossos dismantled several plantations inside houses, since the group opted for this criminal activity "for its profitability and the low criminal convictions it entails."

They were also related to the sale of cocaine and heroin in La Mina, although they financed the activity and charged interest, according to the agents. So they believe they could be involved in a money laundering crime.

The Mossos point out that in order to achieve these objectives, they imposed a "climate of terror" in the area, taking advantage of its broad structure, including the use of violence and firearms. Thus, they point out that a "law of silence" worked that made any police or judicial investigation difficult, since there were no complaints. On July 2, the agents made 29 entries and searches in the homes of Tordera, Maçanet de la Selva, Terrassa, Palau-solità i Plegamans, Barcelona and Badalona, and detained 28 people.

39,000 euros in cash were intervened, 8 high-gamma cars valued at 300,000 euros, 1.5 kilograms of gold valued at 55,000 euros and electronic products valued at 15,000 euros, as well as four semi-automatic pistols, an automatic rifle, 10 simulated firearms , 55 prohibited blades or blunt weapons and about 650 bullets of various calibers. Eight marijuana plantations and three more that had only the infrastructure were dismantled, in flats of La Mina and Terrassa. Endesa technicians detected an electrical fraud in 11 inspected homes, associated with the cultivation of marijuana, which can cause supply cuts and an overload in the facilities.

A few days ago, 15 of the detainees were brought to justice, 9 of whom entered the jail, including the main leaders. The rest were released on charges just like the rest of those arrested who must wait for the judge to summon them to testify.
