• Justicia.Amyts denounces the "abusive" minimum services in the MIR strike

Around 4,600 resident internal doctors (MIR) of the Community of Madrid have been called for an indefinite strike since Monday due to the refusal of the Ministry of Health to negotiate an agreement for an "overexploited" group .

The strike will be 24 hours on Mondays, and the rest of the days on a complementary day, that is, guards. The Ministry of Health has established minimum services of up to 100% , which have been denounced by the Amyts union, which has presented extremely cautious measures.

Specifically, in the field of Hospital Care, the established minimum services reach 100% of the residents who are on call on the days affected by the strike , and during the ordinary Monday hours, the same residents who are on call time. the same day.

In the Primary Care setting, during the ordinary Monday workday, the minimum services set are one resident per shift in centers where up to three residents coincide, and two residents per shift in centers with four or more residents.

From the MIR Strike Committee they have denounced through a tweet that, with the "abusive" minimum services that have been imposed on them by the Ministry of Health, they "prohibit them from going on strike" .

Concentrations

For his part, the president of the MIR Strike Committee, Diego Boianelli, has warned, in statements to Europa Press, that they will not be able to avoid having to listen to them. And it is that, coinciding with the start of the strike, this Monday there will also be concentrations at 8.00 in all the hospitals of the Madrid Health Service (Sermas).

In addition, at 10.00 a demonstration will take place from the delegation of the Ministry of Health on Sagasta street to the headquarters of the department headed by Enrique Ruiz Escudero, on Aduana street. The motto is' For a collective agreement. Without labor rights we paralyze hospitals. '

Boianelli has assured that the reason for the strike is the "lack of negotiation" and "consideration" towards the MIR, an "over-exploited" group, by the Ministry of Health, to which, on May 22, they referred an agreement proposal. In the absence of a response, on June 8, the MIR Strike Committee approved the convening of the strike from July 13 if a satisfactory agreement with the administration was not reached before July 2.

After learning of the refusal of the Ministry of Health to negotiate a collective agreement, the MIR Strike Committee reaffirmed that the strike was the "only option" to claim their rights, and on July 2 they registered the call, a few hours before sitting down with representatives of the General Directorate of Human Resources of Sermas.

Negotiation without stoppages

The Ministry of Health has argued that "the works committee, with a representative of the union organization Amyts and the Ministry of Health, began negotiations on July 2 to reach pacts and agreements on improvements in working conditions for resident staff in training" ugly that "the works council sat down to negotiate having previously registered a strike call".

Thus, he has accused the strike committee of acting "clearly violating the goodwill of the parties that should guide any negotiation and demonstrating their lack of interest in agreeing and avoiding the conflict."

However, the Ministry of Health has shown "willing to restart the talks again as long as they proceed, immediately, to withdraw the notice of strike and undertake to end any attempt at conflict , a commitment that must be maintained during all the negotiation. "

For his part, Escudero has ensured that they are always ready to negotiate to improve the working conditions of the MIR , with the release of guards and the calculation of training but without a labor agreement that, from the legal point of view, "is not necessary" .

Of the 88-page agreement, the MIR Strike Committee has highlighted as its main proposals, among others, the release of all the guards, including Saturdays ; the wage rise; the maximum ratio of four residents to 1 adjunct and "decent" resting places, with the "end of hot beds".
