Emmanuel Macron will speak from the Elysée Tuesday July 14 as part of a television interview broadcast live on France 2 and TF1, said the France Televisions group on Saturday.

The Head of State will answer questions from Léa Salamé (France 2, France Inter) and Gilles Bouleau (TF1) during this interview which will start at 1.10 p.m. It should last 45 minutes, said the Elysee to AFP.

This interview will be broadcast live on France 2 and on TF1, and simultaneously on Franceinfo, LCI and TV5MONDE.

Those close to the president had already announced that he would speak on National Day, "probably in the context of an interview on television", reviving a presidential tradition that he had suppressed.

This interview will be an opportunity to clarify the main lines of its policy, two years from the presidential election in 2022, and to come back to the health crisis linked to Covid-19 and its consequences on the country.

The new Prime Minister Jean Castex will make his declaration of general policy before the National Assembly the next day, July 15.
