Life in the Chinese capital, Beijing, is gradually returning to normal, while Saudi Arabia has issued warnings to citizens and residents to travel abroad in light of the epidemic instability of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Chinese authorities announced that they were able to contain the new wave of Corona virus, as many sectors are seeking to conduct their work in light of the strict precautions.

The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in 564,596 deaths worldwide since the virus surfaced in China late last year, according to the WorldMeter website, which specializes in monitoring globally victims of the virus.

The United States is the country with the highest number of deaths in Covid-19 with 136 thousand and 953 deaths, followed by Brazil with 70 thousand and 601 deaths, then the United Kingdom with 44 thousand and 650 deaths, followed by Italy with 34 thousand and 945 deaths, Mexico with 34 thousand and 191 deaths.

In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Health has called on citizens and residents not to travel abroad at this time due to the unstable epidemiological situation of the Coronavirus.

The ministry said in a statement today, Saturday, that its call comes for the instability of the epidemiological situation of the Corona virus, and the continued spread and transmission of the infection with the virus, despite the strict preventive measures and guidelines followed by various countries of the world.

And Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday that it recorded 30 deaths from corona, bringing the total to 2,181 deaths, compared to 229 thousand and 480 injuries, while Qatar detected 498 new cases of the virus, and the UAE 403 cases.

In Turkey, the authorities recorded 21 new deaths, bringing the total to 5,344 deaths, while the total number of injuries reached 211,981, after 1016 new cases were recorded.

And in the Gaza Strip, the central markets were opened after being closed for more than two months as part of the preventive measures to combat the Corona epidemic.

The decision to reopen the markets is part of a series of measures that government agencies have agreed upon following the stability of the general situation with respect to the spread of the Corona epidemic, and the consequent permitting the return of economic activity.

Other developments

California, one of the states worst affected by the virus, has announced that it will release 8,000 prisoners to reduce the spread of the virus in its overcrowded prisons.

For his part, American billionaire Bill Gates said he was "optimistic" about the fight against Covid-19, and called for distributing drugs and vaccines to those who need them and not "to those who pay more."

Emirates Airlines has terminated 10% of its employees due to the new Corona virus, but the percentage of jobs that will be abolished may reach 15%, or 9,000 jobs, according to a statement by the company's chairman.

In Iran, which is under severe sanctions, the authorities have announced that they have been unable to stop economic activity despite recording in recent weeks an increase in the number of deaths and injuries caused by the Coronavirus.

President Hassan Rouhani said in statements before members of the "Coved-19" anti-broadcast committee, which was broadcast on local TV channels, that Iran should continue "economic, social and cultural activities with commitment to health measures" to prevent the spread of the virus.

Possibility to control

For its part, the World Health Organization announced that it is still possible to control the outbreak of the Corona virus, despite the number of infections increasing more than twice in the past weeks.

The head of the organization, Tedros Adhanom Giberisus, considered that the experiences of Italy, Spain, South Korea and India in combating the epidemic prove that no matter how severe the spread, it remains capable of bringing it back under control.

"The injuries in the last six weeks have more than doubled," Gypressus revealed during a video conference.

In contrast, WHO Director of Emergency Program Dr. Mike Ryan said that it is unlikely to completely eliminate the Corona virus.

"In the current situation, it is unlikely that we will be able to erase this virus," he added in an online statement.

He said eliminating hotspots could enable the world "to avoid the worst, which is having a second peak and having to go back in terms of public isolation measures."
