According to the report, sales of regular bicycles continue to decline. At the same time, the number of electric bicycles sold is increasing in the long term - but fewer electric bicycles were sold in 2019, compared with the peak year 2018.
Since the end of the cycle year 2018, a further 111 km of cycle path has been registered and the use of bicycle helmets continues to increase. However, the Swedish Transport Administration writes that the increase is below the line for desirable development.
20 deaths annuallyA total of about 20 cyclists per year die in Sweden. According to the report, the outcome last year was somewhat lower. 80 percent of those seriously injured do so in single accidents.
According to the report, in 2019 there was a total of 129 km cycle path in Östergötland. In Gotland the same figure is 17 km.
