“As far as I know, there is no discussion on the day of silence,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

According to him, the absence of a day of silence "this time was due to the lack of a competitive nature" of voting on amendments to the Constitution.

“And when we talk about universal voting day, this is a competitive vote, so as far as I know, no discussions are being held,” he added.

Thus, he answered the question of whether the Kremlin discussed the possibility of canceling the day of silence before the September elections and banning the publication of exit polls before the closure of polling stations.

Earlier, the CEC announced that on July 16 the commission will discuss with representatives of political forces and experts the possibility of holding a vote in September for two to three days instead of one.
