- We saw something moving in the water, and at first thought it was a tumbler. But then we saw on the beak that it was a dolphin. We were so surprised, says Filippa Wejshag Bångman, who was in the boat.

They stopped the boat and the dolphin swam really close.

- We could almost touch it. It was so cool and fun, she says.

"Definitely a dolphin"

Svante Lysén is a nature photographer, whale and dolphin expert at the Natural History Museum in Gothenburg.

According to Svante Lysén, who works with whales at the Natural History Museum in Gothenburg, it is definitely a dolphin and not a porpoise.

- The tumbler has more of its back above the water while the dolphin dives more and jumps. The back of the dorsal fin is perfectly straight on the tumbler and inwardly curved on the dolphin - and so it is on the film. You can also see the drawing of this dolphin, which makes it possible to determine it. It is a saddle dolphin, also called .... dolphin.

I have never heard of dolphins along the Swedish coast. Has it happened before?

Yes, right now we are following a couple of pigs that are on the Uppland coast, almost up at Hudiksvall. There is also a population of porpoises in the Baltic Sea, says Svante Lysén.
