He said that several core raw materials that were once highly dependent on Japanese imports have been localized and will further promote the localized production of core semiconductor raw materials in the future.

"We will take a different path from Japan." He said that South Korea will use the crisis as an opportunity to move towards the goal of "global powerhouse of parts". He said that he will strengthen cooperation with the international community and stabilize the global supply chain.

According to the "Materials, Parts and Equipment 2.0 Strategy" released by the Korean government, it will vigorously support local companies and plan to invest 5 trillion won in research and development of strategic emerging industries by 2022; at the same time, it will increase its cooperation with the United States and China , Europe and other places in the supply chain goods list, the scope of the field has expanded from the previous semiconductors, displays, etc. to new energy, robots and other emerging industries.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that it will use this to enhance the international competitiveness of strategic emerging industries and promote the independent production of parts.

In July last year, the Japanese government announced stricter controls on raw materials exported to South Korea’s three semiconductor industries. Since then, South Korea and Japan each hold their own words, deleting each other from the "white list" of trade, leading to trade friction fermentation and deterioration of bilateral relations.
