Peskov noted that a certain sequence and step-by-step integration actions are prescribed in the union agreement between Russia and Belarus.

He also said that there is a certain set of roadmaps that has been worked out for a long time.

“And these topics really are and were on the agenda and they are indeed being discussed at a very different level,” said the spokesman for the Russian leader.

According to RIA Novosti, earlier the chief editor of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, Alexei Venediktov, said that he had confirmation of the information that Putin and Lukashenko had discussed the topic of unification of the two countries a year and a half ago in Shanghai.

In February, Lukashenko said that Belarus remains committed to “real integration” with Russia within the Union State, but without compulsion.
