The highest court in the country has ruled, by a majority of seven judges out of nine, that "no citizen, not even the president, can avoid having to produce documents in the event of a criminal investigation". "The president does not enjoy absolute immunity from orders from state justice prosecutors," she added.

The issue of taxes for the American billionaire is paramount, and very sensitive, because the real estate tycoon has always refused to publish his tax returns, a gesture traditionally performed by the candidates for the presidency of the United States for the sake of transparency.
