A 25-year-old young man was tried on Wednesday before the Rennes Criminal Court for a series of robberies committed against elderly people. The facts go back to February. On February 17, police were called into the city center by witnesses to the theft of an old lady's handbag. Fallen to the ground, the latter had a bloody face. But she was unable to give the police any description of her attacker.

In the following ten days, three other similar attacks occurred in Rennes, Cesson and Saint-Grégoire with victims, still women, aged 77 to 86 years. It is thanks to clues mentioning the presence of a rental car not far from the scene of the attacks that the police succeeded in finding the trace of the aggressor.

Eighteen months in prison with warrant

Aged 25 and already known to justice for similar facts, the latter took advantage of the confinement to be discreet. It was not until July 1 that the police succeeded in arresting him.

Tried in immediate appearance, he was sentenced to eighteen months in prison with a warrant.
