China News Service, Nanjing, July 9th (Yang Yanci) According to the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on the 9th: Venus in the sky will reach its maximum brightness on the 10th, appearing as a "revelation star" in Tianyu. At that time, the shining Venus will hang on the eastern skyline and emit white light, dazzling in the starry sky, shining brightly.

Venus is closer to Earth, and its surface is covered by dense atmosphere, and its albedo is very high, so in most cases it is the brightest planet. When it appears in the morning, people call it "Rising Star"; when it appears at dusk, people call it "Chang Geng Star".

From January to May this year, Venus is a faint star, appearing in the western sky after sunset. It was very easy to attract people's attention during that time.

Although Venus is bright, whenever the distance between Venus is east (a good time to watch Venus at dusk) or west is long (a good time to watch Venus in the morning), it has the largest angular distance from the sun, which is more conducive to observation.

However, long distance is not the brightest time for Venus, because Venus is still far away from the earth. After the east long distance, Venus slowly approached the earth and the brightness increased, but due to the phase change of Venus, the part of the earth illuminated by the sun was getting smaller and smaller, so there was a moment in the middle when Venus reached its brightest .

According to scientific calculations, Venus will meet with the Earth once every 584 days. During this period, Venus will have the two brightest times, and the interval between the two brightest times is very short, once in the night and once in the early morning.

On July 10, Venus will be able to reach its maximum brightness during the western side of the Sun, with a magnitude of -4.7, and a horizon height of 27° at sunrise.

It is worth noting that because the visible time of Venus is about 2:30 to 4 a.m., the sunrise time in the mid-latitude region of the northern hemisphere is very early. Even if Venus is very bright, it will be difficult for anyone to notice.

In addition, on the 12th, Venus will come to another bright red star near the five stars, the angle between the two is only 1° when the closest. But as the alpha star of Taurus, the brightness of Bi Suwu is only about 1st. On the 17th, the waning lunar month of the lunar calendar will also come near this sky area and stage a double star companion moon. (Finish)
