“As of July 7, at 7:00 a.m, Novoaydarsky district continues to extinguish individual burning centers of forest litter in the Borovsky, Kapitanovsky and Akhtyrsky forestries ... The approximate area covered by the fire is about 5 thousand hectares,” the report said.
According to the latest data, five people died as a result of the fire, and another 34, including 15 children, were hospitalized.
Almost 1.5 thousand people and 293 pieces of equipment, including two AN-32P aircraft, were involved in the extinguishing.
Earlier, the National Police of Ukraine opened a criminal case on the fact of forest fires in the territory of Lugansk region controlled by Kiev.
