Some also believe that it is the residents of the village (on the north side of road 95 between Varuträsk and Boliden) who open, but do not close the gate that sits on the south side of the road.

- It is true that it is all too often open, but there are several explanations, including timber transport, says Östen Lundqvist, who lives in Klintforsliden.

He has previously been in contact with the Swedish Transport Administration and proposed solutions that have not yet been heard.

- I previously received the answer that the gates should remain because there was a fatal accident after moose collision right here, but that moose came from the village road so the conclusion is not quite right.

Want to get in error reports

Staffan Ökvist, Head of Maintenance District North states that it is problematic with gates that are left open and urges all road users to always make efforts to call the Swedish Transport Administration's 24-hour contact center (0771-921921) and report errors.

Staffan Ökvist, Head of Operations Area North Traffic Administration Luleå.

- We have a contractor who does an inspection of the road network every seven days, but they need to know as much as possible about any deficiencies, says Staffan Ökvist, who himself is in Luleå and does not know what it looks like on the site.

But SVT News has been there and can conclude that this particular gate is not working properly. And the next gate along the stretch of road, according to Östen Lundqvist, even moose can get through.

- It is good and important that we get this kind of recording because then we simply have to go there and make a new assessment, says the head of the Swedish Transport Administration.
