Xining, Xinhua, July 9 (Zhang Tianfu Li Hongmiao) Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital reported on the 9th that a Sichuanese man was attacked by a brown bear and his face was bitten by the brown bear. The doctor of the hospital successfully repaired it after 16 hours.

A few days ago, a Tibetan man, Gongze, in Ganzi Prefecture of Sichuan Province, was attacked by a brown bear in the grassland. Gong Ze's face was bitten by a brown bear, the left half of the tissue was damaged, the comminuted fracture of the jaw bone was exposed, and the large blood vessels in the neck were injured and his life was in danger.

After the incident, Gong Ze was simply bandaged in the local area and was sent to the Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital for treatment.

Liu Shijie, Director of Maxillofacial Surgery, Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital, introduced that the hospital conducted neck trauma for patients, ligated and ruptured the internal jugular vein, and then performed debridement on the left side of the severely contaminated wound. After debridement, it was found that the patient's left facial soft tissue defects (including skin, subcutaneous tissue, facial muscles), zygomatic zygomatic arch and comminuted fractures of the mandible and exposed on the wound surface, caused a huge repair challenge.

In this regard, the medical staff decided to use the patient's thigh femoral anterolateral skin flap for free transplantation, using microsurgical techniques to anastomosing the descending branch of the external femoral artery with facial arteriovenous vein. After a long 16-hour struggle, the patient's anterolateral lateral femoral flap was similar in length and thickness to the facial defect, and it had anastomosed blood vessels, good blood flow, and strong anti-infection ability.

Liu Shijie said that one week after the operation, Gongze's vital signs were stable, and all the indicators were normal. The free skin transplantation of the thigh flap was good, and the surgical repair effect was satisfactory. (Finish)
