Jönköping University, just like the trend in the rest of the country, has had a great search pressure for the autumn's programs and courses. In Jönköping, there is a total of 13 percent more first-hand applicants compared to 2019. In the autumn, 3700 new students were admitted to a program in the first sample, which is about 700 more than last year.

-Yes, it is partly because more people have applied and that we have expanded our places and that we are thereby filling more places, explains Julia Randau, who is a team leader in the university's communications department.

"We can also see that quite high admission points have been required for several of the programs," she adds.

There the pressure was greatest

SVT Jönköping has previously stated that the increased search pressure in the spring created an additional 6,000 study places in the country. Of these, 360 were set up at Jönköping University, of which 120 were summer courses.

Demand for health education sites has been particularly high, which has previously been explained to be an effect that more people feel called upon to help in care given the pandemic. It is also something that was seen in the applications to Jönköping, where the Socionom program and the Nurse program were the most popular to apply for.

Those who have now been accepted into programs and courses have until July 24 to respond to their offer.
