In 2010, Karim Zéribi chaired the RTM (archives). - P.MAGNIEN / 20 MINUTES

Two years in prison suspended were required Wednesday against Karim Zéribi, tried for breach of trust and misuse of social goods. "There was no personal enrichment" but "the enrichment may be because you have obtained means that you should not have obtained" in particular via these two associations, launched the prosecutor of Marseille Etienne Perrin . The magistrate also claimed a fine of 50,000 euros and four years of ineligibility.

Karim Zéribi shouted at the plot, saying that he was "at the center of an instrumentalization" and victim of "wickedness, hatred and jealousy". This 53-year-old railroader, former MEP, is today director of societal engagement and ecological transition for SNCF, columnist for the program Balance ton post! , after being one of the Big Mouths  of RMC.

"Misappropriation" of associations

Karim Zéribi founded two associations: Agir pour la Citoyitié (APC) and Agir pour la Compétence (APC-R), a kind of recruitment agency for young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods.

What is wrong with him? "A hijacking of the association" APC which "has been deviated from its path," said the prosecutor. The associative resources would have notably financed a survey invoiced 9,500 euros and relating in part to the notoriety of Karim Zéribi, communication tools at his service or the rent of his circle of political reflection "New France".

Karim Zéribi faces a three-year prison sentence and a fine of 375,000 euros. The judgment should be put under advisement.
