“Relations with the Czech Republic have recently been overshadowed by well-known events with certain unfriendly steps taken at the level of municipal authorities and central authorities,” a Kremlin spokesman told reporters.

Peskov noted that this had a negative effect on the general background of bilateral relations, but Moscow is set up for "good interaction" with all states.

According to him, no contacts are planned with Prague at the highest or highest levels in the near future.

In early April, a monument to Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev was dismantled in the Czech capital. The Russian Foreign Ministry called these actions outrageous and cynical.

Later, two employees of the Russian embassy were declared by the Czech Republic as persons non grata. Prime Minister Andrei Babish said the decision was connected with the story of the alleged transportation of the poisonous substance ricin.
