Not really. Asked about the question by France Bleu Alsace this Wednesday, the president of the SNCF Jean Pierre Farandou lifted the veil on a possible date of return to normal. And it is not high speed… We will have to wait to find high speed, at best until September.

The reason ? The works following a landslide last March near Saverne (Bas-Rhin), about thirty kilometers from Strasbourg, are difficult. A ground collapse had led to a serious accident. The TGV carrying 398 passengers had left its rails after hitting the embankment. The accident resulted in one serious injury, the driver, and 22 slightly injured passengers.

"A subject of security"

Asked by 20 Minutes , SNCF Réseau did not wish to give more details on the progress of the site, or any problems encountered. The management explains that specialized companies have been called to intervene on this particular site and confides to hope that it is "ready for the start of the school year". But stresses that "this is a security issue, it should not be overlooked".

For the time being, trains are using conventional tracks at this location. The opportunity to take the time to contemplate throughout the trip the landscapes of the Grand-Est during these holidays…
