British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said yesterday that he bore full responsibility for the government's response to the Corona virus pandemic, denying that he had tried to blame health care workers for the spread of the Covid-19 infection.

Johnson was criticized for saying that some nursing homes had not followed measures to reduce deaths from the disease, and opposition leader Labour leader Kier Starmer repeatedly asked him to apologize. But the prime minister did not apologize.

"The last thing I want to do is to blame the healthcare workers for what happened, or for any of them to imagine that I blame them," Johnson told parliament.

He added, “When it comes to taking responsibility, I bear full responsibility for what happened. What was not known to everyone at the beginning of the outbreak was that the virus was transmitted from people who did not have symptoms to others, so we changed the guidelines.
