“We strongly oppose US measures, and in response to the erroneous actions of the American side, China decided to impose visa restrictions on US citizens for an unacceptable attitude to Tibet,” RIA Novosti quotes Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijiang.
He also noted that China would not tolerate any foreign interference in the affairs of Tibet.
Earlier, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the introduction of the US side of sanctions against Chinese officials responsible for "limiting the access of foreigners to Tibet."
