China announced Wednesday that the US withdrawal from the World Health Organization is undermining the international fight against the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Legian said that Washington's exit from the international organization, which it announced Tuesday, "is another example of the unilateral approach by the United States."

"We urge the United States to fulfill its international responsibilities and obligations and assume responsibility as a large country," Zhao added.
The United States formally notified UN Secretary-General António Guterres of withdrawing from the organization late yesterday.

US President Donald Trump said in May that he would withdraw from the World Health Organization, accusing the organization of failing to tackle the Corona virus pandemic and of being a puppet of China. Trump also announced the suspension of the organization's funding, in a move that caused concern

By many circles and circles, including the United States' allies.

A senior official in the US administration, the United Nations and later the World Health Organization (WHO) itself confirmed the move, which will enter into force on July 6, 2021. The WHO has not made any further comment.
