The survey, which included more than eight thousand people, showed that 58% of Abu Dhabi residents believe that life will return to normal during the current year 2020, while 17% of them believe that the return to normalcy will be delayed until the second half of 2021. The questionnaire showed that the male category is more optimistic than the female category regarding the expectations of returning to normal life during the current year by 60%, compared to 54% of women. The survey also indicated that families with children in schools believe that it will take longer for life to return to normal.

Concerning concerns regarding the implications of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), the questionnaire revealed positive indications indicating optimism for the emirate's residents, as it showed that only 38% of respondents feel concerned about the health risks they or their families may be exposed to, and 30 feel % Of them are concerned about the continuity of the economic effects of the virus, while only one in four people is concerned about the permanent impact on their personal income, i.e. 24% of the population surveyed.

85.57% of the people surveyed confirmed that shaping the future depends mainly on how the government and society together respond to the consequences of the Coruna virus and deal with the socio-economic impacts resulting from it. Although the existence of concerns about life after the virus (Covid-19) is expected, the questionnaire revealed that 92% of people have high confidence in the government procedures that the UAE follows to confront and overcome the virus, along with efforts made to meet the needs and requirements of senior Citizens and people of determination.

"These questionnaires contribute to enhancing the various efforts made to help the people of the emirate to overcome their concerns about the Corona virus (Covid-19) and reduce the impact of the virus on their lives," said Advisor to the Head of the Community Development Department, Dr. Mona Al-Bahar.

"While we cannot ignore the different effects caused by the virus, we are pleased to find these high proportions that reflect the optimism of the residents of Abu Dhabi about the current circumstances regarding the consequences of the virus and the future after the virus ends.
