A new questionnaire conducted by the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center to poll the views of residents of the emirate on the nature of life after the outbreak of the Corona Virus Pandemic (Covid-19) and the resulting changes, confirmed the optimism of the emirate's residents to return to normal before the end of this year.

The survey, which included more than 8,000 people, showed that 58% of Abu Dhabi residents believe that life will return to normal during the coming months, while 17% of them believe that the return to normalcy will be delayed until the second half of 2021.

The questionnaire showed that males are more optimistic than females regarding the expectations of returning to normal life this year, by 60%, compared to 54%. Also, families with children in schools believe that it will take longer for life to return to normal.

Concerning concerns regarding the implications of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), the questionnaire revealed positive indications for the optimism of the emirate's residents, as it showed that only 38% of respondents feel concerned about the health risks that they or their families may be exposed to, and 30% feel Among them were concerns about the persistence of the economic effects of the virus, while one in four people was concerned about the lasting impact on their personal income.

85% of the people surveyed confirmed that shaping the future depends mainly on how the government and society together respond to the consequences of the Corona virus, and deal with the social and economic implications of it.

Although the existence of concerns about life after «Covid-19» is expected, the questionnaire revealed that 92% of people have high confidence in the government’s procedures to confront and overcome the virus, in addition to the efforts made to meet the needs and requirements Senior citizens and people of determination.

The residents' high confidence in the decisions issued by the competent authorities will enhance all of us a sense of responsibility to redouble our joint efforts and work together to overcome this stage. ”

She stressed the department's commitment to take measures to support efforts to reduce the consequences of the virus and contribute to improving the quality of life of the population.
