The Inspectorate for Healthcare and Care, IVO, has previously examined 1,000 elderly care businesses across the country - and then discovered "serious deficiencies" on every ten residents. Since then, IVO has deepened its scrutiny of all the country's special accommodations.

At 91 accommodations, where the situation is described as extra serious, IVO now goes ahead with journal review.

- There are examples of people who have not received an individual assessment by a doctor but where they have made a general assessment that was not what the person needed. People have suffered badly, says Sofia Wallström, Director General of the Inspection for Health and Care.

Obscure flaws

Three of the designated accommodations that are now to be examined further are in Jönköping County. According to IVO's presentation on Tuesday, it is about Solstickegatan in Jönköping, Solbacka in Gislaved and Furugården in Vaggeryd. Exactly what deficiencies the authorities have found on these accommodations are currently unclear.

The results of the review conducted so far were presented at a press conference on Tuesday, attended by Social Minister Lena Hallengren (S) and Sofia Wallström, Director General of the IVO.
