As of the end of 2019, the number of digital medical users in China is about 70% of the total number of mobile Internet users, reaching 620 million.

The report believes that China's digital medical ecological layout is improving day by day, and under the catalysis of the new crown epidemic, the industry will welcome the arrival of a new "inflection point".

The report divides consumers' digital medical journey into four major scenarios: "understanding information", "remote consultation", "online drug purchase" and "disease management". Among them, the information has exceeded 60% penetration rate, while the disease management is less than 10%, and the main demands of users in different scenarios and the degree of satisfaction will have a greater impact on penetration rate.

For example, the Internet's "mass information" and diversified communication channels have attracted most users to learn medical and health-related information online; the awareness and effectiveness of online disease management is temporarily difficult to replace offline channels, and there are still many unmet needs Wait.

Wu Chun, managing director and global partner of BCG, said that under the inflection point, if digital medicine is to achieve "burst growth" after the epidemic, it needs to meet three major factors. First, the continuous promotion of online consumers and patients has increased the acceptance of public awareness; second, clarification of the online and offline digital models, the extensive cultivation and solidification of online habits of consumers and patients; third, the richness of various digital platforms The product line strengthens the service level and the quality of online resources is improved.

"These three elements are only the prerequisites for the realization of the "explosive growth" of digital medicine, and they still need to be jointly promoted by stakeholders such as policies, medical systems, pharmaceutical equipment companies, digital platforms and consumer groups." Wu Chun said. (Finish)
