The coronal situation in Sweden is described as positive. The number of positive cases has a rapidly declining tendency while the number of serious cases is low, Johan Carlson announced during Tuesday's press conference.

Crowds on streets and beaches

But there are also cloud clouds in holiday times.

According to the Swedish Agency for Social Protection and Preparedness (MSB), there is much evidence that travel in Sweden is increasing. Among other things, from the County Administrative Board in Kalmar, reports of congestion in the outdoor environments on Öland - mainly on streets and beaches.

Although over half of Sweden's regions have good available capacity in their hospitals to handle covid-19, there are regions with significantly lower capacity.

- Above all, but not only, small and tourist-intensive regions see concern for the coming tourist weeks, says Johanna Sandwall, crisis management manager at the National Board of Health and Welfare.

Avoid new contacts

A call from the authorities is to continue to follow the recommendations.

- These positive signals are the effect of maintaining social distance and must continue to be maintained. We have indications from some holiday resorts where it works less well. My message is: hold on to this! says Johan Carlsson.

He also urges people not to acquire new acquaintances during holidays.

- Even if it's nice, you have to wait until next year, he says.
