On the 6th local time, the "Open Sky Treaty" network meeting of the parties was held. Russia, the United States and other countries could not reach consensus. The United States is expected to officially withdraw from the treaty in November this year. According to Russian media reports, the representatives of Russia and the United States did not reach any consensus on the withdrawal of the United States. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Riyabrikov revealed to the media that the Russian side introduced the impact of the treaty on the surrounding situation and the consequences of the US unilateral withdrawal from the treaty at the meeting on the same day. Ryabkov emphasized that even if the Russian side makes concessions, it will not change the United States' stand on withdrawal. He said that the United States has no obvious political will to seek a solution, nor does it want to negotiate to correct current mistakes.

The "Open Sky Treaty" was signed by the United States, Russia and most NATO countries in 1992 and entered into force in 2002. The treaty aims to increase military transparency and reduce the risk of conflict. The parties may conduct unarmed air reconnaissance on each other’s territory as required. In May of this year, the US government stated that it would submit a notice of withdrawal to the parties to the treaty and formally withdraw from the treaty unilaterally after 6 months, citing a breach of contract by Russia. The next round of the Open Sky Treaty Meeting of States Parties is scheduled for July 13. (Gu Xin reporter Gu Xin)
