Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announced on Tuesday that he had tested positive for the new coronavirus, which he has constantly played down since the start of the pandemic, even refusing for a long time to wear a mask or strongly opposing confinement. The virus has already killed more than 65,000 people in his country, one of the most affected in the world by the epidemic.

"The positive result of the test has just arrived," said the 65-year-old head of state during an interview with several television channels this morning in Brazil, after having had a fever the day before.
