This is not the first time the club's logo has been the subject of discussion and criticism. In 2015, a notification was made to the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO) in which the symbol was considered offensive.

Now the issue has come to life again, partly because of the Black Lives Matter movement. Frölunda is now doing an impact assessment of the club brand, which is expected to be completed in August.
