- Our view is that there is no technical evidence that binds my client to the body or to the place where the body was found. We do not share the district court's opinion and I can already say that my client intends to appeal this judgment to the High Court, says lawyer Tommy Nilsson, who represents one of the men.

Prosecutor: "Right assessment"

It was on July 31 last year that the 70-year-old man from Markaryd disappeared. Ten days later he was found dead in a wooded area outside Markaryd. In addition to murder, the two men were convicted of assault, after stealing the 70-year-old's car. One of the men is also convicted of attempted fraud after trying to withdraw money with the 70-year-old's bank card.

- I have just been verbally accounted to me for what it says in the judgment, that is, both persons are sentenced to life imprisonment for, among other things, murder. Since that was my request, I think the district court has made the right assessment, says prosecutor Gunilla Öhlin.
