His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, issued decrees numbers (16), (18) and (19) for the year 2020 to appoint and promote judges in Dubai courts.

Decree No. (16) of 2020 stipulated the promotion of Judge Abdel Qader Musa Muhammad Abd Al-Rahman, a first Cassation Judge, and his appointment as President of the Court of Cassation, and Decree No. (18) of 2020 to assign Judge Omar Ateeq Al-Marri, Senior Cassation Judge, to perform the duties of Deputy Director of Dubai Courts, while Decree No. (19) of 2020 stipulates the appointment of Judge Muhammad Mubarak Obaid al-Sabousi, Judge of Cassation, as President of the Courts of First Instance. It shall be enforced by the three decrees from the date of their issuance, and published in the Official Gazette.

His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Judicial Council, also issued Decisions No. (8), (9), (10) and (11) for the year 2020 to assign judges headed by some of the specialized courts of first instance in Dubai.

Resolution No. 8 of 2020 mandated Judge Dr. Abdullah Saif Abdullah Al-Shamsi, Judge of Cassation, to preside over the Criminal Court of the Courts of First Instance, and Resolution No. (9) of 2020 mandated Judge Ayoub Ali Hatim Ahli, a first Appellate Judge, headed by the Civil Court of the Courts of First Instance. And Resolution No. (10) of 2020 on the appointment of Judge Salem Muhammad Salem al-Qaidi, a first appellate judge, presided over by the Real Estate Court at the first instance courts, and Resolution No. (11) of 2020 on the appointment of Judge Khalid Obaid Humaid Al Mansoori, an appeals judge, headed by the Commercial Court of the First Instance, Provided that the four decisions are implemented from the date of their issuance, and they will be published in the Official Gazette.
