At 19.30 on Sunday evening, police were alerted to a location in Bjurholm municipality.

"Three people have gone on a quad bike and overturned and when the police get there, everyone has injuries and needs hospital care," says Mats Bruhn, who is on duty police investigating leader.

The three people were a man in his 40s, a woman of the same age and a girl who is under 15. According to a patient injury report from the University Hospital of Norrland, the man should have suffered moderate injuries while the woman and the girl suffered minor injuries.

The man is suspected of crime

The police now suspect that the man, who was the driver of the quad bike, has been driving rudely.

- He blows positively in the screening instrument and we also do a body inspection to try to find out what alcohol he was affected by, says Bruhn.

The police have seized the four-wheeler and are now investigating the incident as gross drunk driving, alternative drunk driving and gross negligence for bodily harm.

- It is not the extent of the damage, but it becomes gritty when, for example, driving a vehicle and in addition under the influence of alcohol, Bruhn explains.

Police are now awaiting an analysis to see what alcohol concentration the man had in his body. Holidays mean that the analysis will take two to four weeks.
