“The United States welcomes Britain’s global sanctions regime for human rights abuses, which intensifies the fight against global oppression of human rights. The use of these important tools by our countries is vital to bring unscrupulous actors to account for their actions, ”the American minister wrote on Twitter.

On July 6, the British authorities published a list of people and organizations accused by London of violating human rights.

This list includes 25 Russians who are allegedly involved in the death of Sergei Magnitsky. In particular, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin is included in the list of sanctions.

As the head of the Forin Office, Dominic Raab, noted, the UK thus proved to be a force of good.
