Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described the American policies towards his country as a comprehensive war, saying - during a parliamentary session that witnessed tensions - that Washington is promoting the idea that Iran has become a threat to security in the world.

In a speech to the Iranian parliament, Zarif added that the American administration seeks to delegitimize the regime of his country, exert pressure on its friends and strike its interests in the region.

He said that the United States believes that by promoting the idea that Iran has become a source of a threat to security in the world, it can drag Iran to the centers in which it has power, such as the Security Council, and follows the policy of creating a gap between the people and the government, striking the legitimacy of the country's system and showing it that it does not have the necessary competence, It seeks to achieve these goals through the policy of extreme pressure.

The Iranian parliament session witnessed sharp criticism of the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, after his first participation in the new parliament meeting touched on his relationship with the former Quds Force commander, General Qassem Soleimani, and the relations of Western countries with Iran.

Four members of the Iranian parliament boycotted Zarif's words, criticizing him and accusing him of lying. Zarif replied that the Iranian guide described him as honest and courageous. Zarif also criticized the deputies' approach to dealing with him.
