Serbian international midfielder Nemanja Matic has extended his contract with Manchester United by two years until 2023, the Red Devils announced on Monday.

Arrived in 2017 in the luggage of José Mourinho, who had made him one of his executives at Chelsea, Matic (31) has played 114 matches in the Mancunian jersey.

He also has 48 caps with Serbia.

He moved on to the post as recuperator in the mid-threesome that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently has, alongside Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes.

If his name is much less often cited than that of his two accomplices, he has been an important player in the current series of 16 matches without defeat.
