Al-Jazeera Net-Tehran

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that European countries should implement their commitments in the international agreement on his country's nuclear program, instead of their decision to activate the dispute resolution mechanism, in response to France, Britain and Germany’s call to activate the dispute settlement mechanism with Tehran under the agreement signed with them in 2015.

The European decision came in response to Iran's taking its fifth step in the framework of the policy of reducing its nuclear obligations last week, and was described by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as "a decision that has no legal basis and is a strategic mistake on the political level."

A new adventure
in this regard, the researcher in international affairs Hassan Bahshi Pour warned against the consequences of reactivating the international resolutions and sanctions that were canceled due to the nuclear agreement, stressing that the European side has "opened a new adventure".

Bahshi Pour stressed that the European step would return the Iranian nuclear program to the period before the 2015 agreement, pointing out that it was "more appropriate for the European troika to pressure Washington to return it to the nuclear agreement rather than pressure on Iran."

The researcher fears that the decision will push Tehran to adopt strict behavior, explaining that Iran's freezing of its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency and the voluntary implementation of the additional protocol in the NPT would harm both sides.

Legal steps Legally
, the dispute resolution mechanism, according to international law professor Aydin Mola Zada, means that when the European side accuses Iran of failing to honor its obligations and decides to refer the file to the joint committee, Iran has a 30-day opportunity to dispel the other party’s concerns, and if this is not possible, In a matter of days, the matter may be referred to the Security Council.

He added, "After receiving the complaint within 30 days, the Security Council will vote to re-impose sanctions on Iran," adding that the mechanism would rob Russia and China of the veto, which would lead to the return of international sanctions on Tehran and a return to the square before the nuclear agreement.

Mullahzadeh believes that his country's shrinking steps in the nuclear agreement are in line with its provisions, noting that Tehran has not violated the joint comprehensive plan of action in accordance with international conventions.

He explained that after Tehran reduced its pledges to the agreement, the ball on the European stadium became "the demands to respond to the failure to implement its obligations according to the joint plan", and concluded that the European move aims to urge Iran to sit at the negotiating table again.

Parliamentary warnings
Parliamentary, member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alireza Rahimi considered the European move a "provocative and non-constructive", explaining that the dispute resolution mechanism is a legal framework for moving forward in the nuclear agreement, not to retract it.

In his tweet on Twitter, the Iranian parliamentarian warned that activating the mechanism would bring the technical aspect of Iran's nuclear program back to the period before the signing of the agreement.

As for the prominent member, Heshmatullah, Bishah insisted that he stepped up his tone and warned against launching his country "Shahab-4 صاروخ missile project," hoping that matters would not reach a stage during which Tehran would not be bound by any restrictions in its missile program.

Bishah pointed out that whenever the European side harmed the diplomatic language, a military language developed in Iran, explaining that the European countries had left diplomacy after the nuclear agreement, especially after America's exit from it.

And he warned that "if the military language prevails in relations between Iran and European countries, the latter will hear bad news from Tehran and face security problems."
