An investigation was opened by the police, after bursts of shots with the automatic weapon, on the storefront of a store, in Nîmes (Gard), learned 20 Minutes from Eric Maurel, the public prosecutor of Nimes.

The shots hit a shop located in a shopping center in the Valdegour district. About ten sockets were found on the spot by the investigators. So far, the police have not arrested them.

No arrests yet

For several months, certain districts of Nîmes have been facing an increase in the use of automatic weapons. In June, an elementary school, located at Chemin bas d'Avignon, another district of Nîmes, had been "relocated" by the municipality, while "the use of weapons of war" in this district plagued by trafficking in drug.

A few days earlier, a 20-year-old young man had been killed by a firearm and residents had alerted the police to the presence of hooded men carrying automatic weapons, who had come from outside the neighborhood.
